Can I get a “nAPP” for that?

Technology. Can anyone keep up with it all? I know I can’t. But I know who can – my kids! The other day #2 comes into the kitchen rambling on about the new apps he downloaded for his iPod. It was some cool app that allows him to do one thing or another. Sorry, I honestly try to pay attention to my kids, however, by the time he got to the third app, things started to get a little fuzzy.

Later that evening, when my son was telling his dad about the apps, my husband interrupted by saying, “Can I get a ‘napp’ for that?”. It was a perfect question in our age of a million and two apps for just about everything under the sun. Why can’t someone come up with an app that turns out the lights, draws the curtains, takes care of the kids, and plays relaxing music until your eyes close and you drift off to napland??

I know a few jillion moms and dads that would pay a pretty penny to download an app like that. That got me thinking about my favorite apps. Here are just a few of them:

1) Dragon – Instead of typing this post, I opened Dragon and started talking. At the end of my long winded and multiple run-on sentences ramblings, I push the button and like magic EVERY word I said shows up in a document. GET OUT! No typing (well not much)…life is good!

2) Martha Stewart Living – I’m a Martha fan and this app makes the magazine come alive! Find me a clone and she’s going to make/bake/create every last thing MSLO can come up with!!

3) Glow Draw –This app is extremely cool! It makes creating my new Glow-in-the-Dark designs for comfycozy.com more fun than ever before. Typically I start with the “day image” of a design, but this allows me to doodle with a glow image and work backwards. LOVE IT!

I still think there has to be a way to come up with a “NAP APP”. The one big problem I see is that in order to take a nap, you have to turn off the iPad!

What are your favorite apps? Do you use them for work or play? Leave a comment so I can download them too!

Ahhh, the Dragon – Naturally Speaking app! I can’t believe they’ve been around since the early 90s…when I first entered the world of computing and the internet.

Since I refuse to have a data plan on my phone (I firmly believe it should not cost extra!), and I don’t have an iPad yet, I don’t use apps. I would be willing to bet money I would use the Dragon app though – what a time-saver!
